Brenda Anne (Milligan) Forrester

Brenda Anne Forrester (nee Milligan), aged 72 of Charlottetown PE, passed away peacefully in her home April 24th, surrounded by loving family. 

Brenda was born May 23rd, 1951 to the late Jack and Pauline (Noonan) Milligan.

Graduating from UPEI in 1974 with a BA and BEd, she later attended UNB to attain her MEd in Administration. Brenda touched the lives of both her students and those she worked with. She was witty, warm and always fair in judgement. Students knew they’d get a fair shake  and teachers knew she would help them solve whatever problem they had. From classroom shenanigans to a sonnet with obscure references, Mrs. Forrester could always find the balance between fire and ice.

Teaching was her passion, and it was through this she met her adoring husband, the late Richard Forrester. When the lovebirds weren’t enjoying their Lakeside cottage, they were travelling the world and experiencing the warm beaches of PEI, Portugal, the Bahamas and more. Together, they could put together an itinerary for a March Break southern holiday while Richard made dinner and have the tickets bought by dessert time.

Brenda enjoyed the last of her working years at the Summit Center before spending her retirement surrounded by lovely neighbours in the Dominion Building.

Brenda is survived by siblings, Rodney Milligan and Paula White, stepchildren Joanne (Denys) MacDonald, Michael Forrester, and daughter in law Maggie Forrester, special niece and nephews Emily, Ben (Kelsea Fitzpatrick) and Sam (Kelsey) Milligan. She leaves behind six step-grandchildren and many close friends. She was predeceased by brothers Charles, Robert and Richard Milligan, and stepson Mark Forrester.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Belvedere Funeral Home. There will be no visitation or funeral service by personal request. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of donor’s choice would be appreciated.
