December 16, 1956 - March 23, 2024

It is with profound sadness that the family of Judy Richard, aged 67 of Cornwall, PE, announces her passing on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre. She will be dearly missed by her beloved husband of 45 years, Roger, children: Tony (Amy), Sara, David (Julie Ann) and Matthew (Emily), grandchildren: Evie, Ronin, Zackery and Felix; sister Debi Brogden Foster, and her special furry friend Charlie. Predeceased by father, Geoffrey Brogden, mother Betty Brogden, brother Michael Brogden, sister Wendy Brogden and father-in-law Martin Richard. She is also survived by mother-in-law, Angèle Richard (Melvin Bernard), brothers-in-law Robert (Barb) Richard, Maurice Richard; sister-in-law Martha Arsenault (Paul), and numerous nephews and nieces.

Judy radiated joy: she lived her life to the fullest. Judy dearly loved her family, her friends and her community and had a special love for children and animals - they all seemed to flock to her. She had many interests and even more talents. Judy was well known within the community for her delicious baking, cake making, and wonderful artistic talents, which she volunteered generously. Judy also worked as a returning officer for twenty years for district 16 and became the Deputy Chief Electoral Officer in 2012 - a job which she loved and excelled in. She loved to travel and took every opportunity to do so. There were many family trips, several road trips with friends, and a few European adventures with family. She spent many happy days at "the cottage" both in Consecon, Ontario, and Hampton, Prince Edward Island with her high school sweetheart, the love of her life, husband Roger.

Resting at the Belvedere Funeral Home with visiting hours from 6 pm - 9 pm on Tuesday, March 26th. Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Wednesday, March 27th at 2:00 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, with a reception to follow at the Parish Hall. Interment at a later date at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Cemetery in Cumberland.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff on Unit II of the Queen Elizabeth hospital as well as the entire staff of the Provincial Palliative Care Centre. The loving care she received will never be forgotten.

In lieu of donations, Judy's family would like to encourage you to live life to the fullest, seize every opportunity, do the things you love, do not be afraid to take risks, and enjoy all the small things in life, just as Judy did.
