It is with heavy hearts the family of Anna “Fay” Oatway, loving wife of Merrill Oatway, announces her passing which occurred on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Born in Summerside, PE on January 26, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Viola (Mosher) Thomas. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Gail Terry (Pat), Shirley Thomson (Bert) and Arthur Thomas (Adele).
Besides her husband, Merrill of 29 years, she is survived by her children Wanda Green (Ron), Bonnie MacDonald (Warren) and Ken Darby; step children Naomi Stewart (Frank) and Dawne Stewart; sister Cheryl Judson (Donnie); grandchildren Trevor Green, Mark Green, Matthew MacDonald, Natasha MacDonald (Matt), step grandchildren Taylor Power, William and Emily MacKinley, great grandchildren Dominic, Colton, Tiernan, Vincent and Kenzie; and several nieces and nephews.
Fay was a member and active volunteer with the Winsloe Lions Club. As Annadeans Kennels, she was a devoted breeder of Silky Terriers. Fay was passionately involved in the Dog Fancy, including her training in the Rally Sport, Obedience, and Conformation, as well as, the founder of the Caring Canines Therapy Dog Program.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, with visitation on Sunday, May 12 from 1-4 PM. Her funeral service will be held from Belvedere Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 13 at 10 AM.
