Betty Jean (Saunders) Moore

Peacefully at the Beach Grove Home, Betty Jean Moore, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024. Born in Charlottetown, PE on August 19, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Maritta (MacKay) Saunders. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Barrie Moore, brother George Saunders and daughter-in-law JoAnne Moore.

She is survived by her sons Stephen Moore of Chicago, and Allan Moore of PEI; cherished grandchildren Matheson (Michelle), Betty Jo, Stevie and Angeline; sister Grace Cottrell of Toronto; nieces and nephews.

Barrie and Betty owned and operated Barries Snack Bar for many years. She was an avid gardener and crafter and loved animals. She was devoted to her church, at First Baptist in Charlottetown and Cornerstone Baptist in Cornwall.

Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, August 11 at 10 a.m.

Interment will take place in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Breast Cancer Research).
