It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Blair Bernard, a beloved spouse, father, grandfather, brother, and dedicated fisherman, on June 2, 2025, in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Blair was 59 years old, born on June 5, 1965.

Blair was the cherished son of the late Joseph Bernard and Kathleen "Nanny K" (Gallant) Bernard. He grew up in a vibrant household as one of fifteen children, a foundation that instilled in him the strength and resilience he carried throughout his life.

Blair was a hard worker with a determined spirit, traits that served him well in his lifelong passion. While a man of many talents, his heart truly belonged to the sea, where he dedicated his life as a lobster fisherman. He navigated the ocean not just by charts and compass, but by an instinct born from a lifetime on its waves, demonstrating the grit and perseverance demanded by the trade.

His greatest pride was his family. Blair was the loving spouse of Leanne Hebert, a devoted father to Bobby, Amanda, Keenan, Logan, Keyanna, and Rylie, and a loving grandfather to Austin, Jaylee, Abigail, and Wesley. He leaves behind a legacy of love and hard work within his children and grandchildren.

Blair is survived by his large and loving family of siblings: Phyllis (Bob), Marlene (Allan), Pat (Joanne), Donnie (Eileen), Deborah (Cletus), Albert (Janet), Sheldon (Marion), Carol Ann (Doug), Gilbert (Tine), Shirley (Blaine), Tesa (Kevin), Emmanuel (Connie), and Colleen. He was predeceased by his brother Benny (Eileen) and brother-in-law Robert (Colleen). He will be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends in the fishing community.

A celebration of Blair's life will take place on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Northport Community Centre.

The sea has one less fisherman, but his spirit sails on in every sunrise over the water.
