We, the family of Carol Jean Larter (Garnhum) are saddened to announce, with heavy hearts, her passing on June 3rd, 2024. Carol was born on December 4th, 1940 in Charlottetown to her Late parents John and Ethel Garnhum. Carol was predeceased by her brothers Owen and Johnny, sister Donna (Harry James) and brother-in-law Al Meloche.
Left to mourn are her husband of 65 years, Ralph (Duke) Larter and her three sons, Robbie (Kellie), Darren (Karen), Tyler (JoAnn) as well as her grandchildren Carrie, Ryan, Jenna, Hannah, Emalee, Drue, Tanner, Savannah, and Kylee and great grandchildren Lola, Rowan and Arlo. Also left to mourn are her Sisters Cheryl (John Dunn), Londie Meloche, sister-in-law Verna Garnhum and many nieces and nephews.
Carol enjoyed spending her summers at her cottage in Brackley Beach, an afternoon at the beach, an occasional round of golf and a card game with family and friends. Mostly she enjoyed her family and the memories of a life well lived. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and we as a family were blessed to call her “Mom” and “Mima” by her grandchildren. We will miss her greatly.
We would like to thank the many staff at Atlantic Baptist Home for their care and dedication to her during her time there. Knowing she was receiving the care she needed was comforting to us. May she rest in peace.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home. There will be no public visitation or service by personal request. Donations in memory of Carol may be made to PEI Humane Society.
