After a short and courageous battle, it is with heavy hearts that the family of Carol Eileen Sweetapple, 77, announces her peaceful passing on July 25, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband Rupert of 55 years, daughters Pam (Matthew Fitzpatrick) of Fairview, and Julie (Jeff Mitchell) of Halifax, and granddaughters Jessica, Keira, Genevieve, and Emma. Also left to mourn are her brothers Brian Butler, Bob Butler (Donna), and her sister Peggy Brooks (Ron Ardnt).
Carol was predeceased by her parents Tom and Jean Butler, sister Sharon, and infant granddaughter Madeline.
Carol’s warmth and energy touched everyone who knew her. She had a lifelong passion for staying active and social throughout the years. Carol forged deep and lasting friendships through her many circles - whether with her retired RBC colleagues, her ladies golf group, geocaching partners, curling and softball team members, or best friends from her York Point community. Above all, Carol’s family was her world. Her daughters and grandchildren were her greatest joys and sources of pride. She will be deeply missed by her husband, children and their families, along with many other family members and friends.
