Celebrating the Life of Carol Ann Corner (Hogan)
Surrounded by the love of her family, and with an appreciation for a life well lived, the death of Carol Ann Corner (nee Hogan) occurred on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, at the age of 85 years.
Carol Ann was born on May 11, 1941, to the late Arthur and Helen (nee Judson) Hogan. Growing up on Green Street and later 153 North River Road, she was a true daughter of the Island and the eldest of five siblings.
A Legacy of Strength and Adventure
Carol Ann was a "force" wrapped in poise. Whether she was the gifted athlete on the court, the vibrant performer in community theater, or the local cable TV host sharing her passion for healthy eating, she lived with an infectious zest for life. She was often the instigator of fun—like the time she and her brother Geoff tried to sneak into a Government House soiree. She carried herself with grace, holding her head high and exuding a strength that made her the undisputed rock of her family.
An "unofficial ambassador" for Prince Edward Island, Carol Ann’s love for her home was profound. She was the first to offer a tour to a stranger, eager to help them see the Island’s beauty through her eyes. This passion for the natural world was cultivated in her youth during special hunting trips with her father, Arthur, and later flourished when she opened the Birds Eye Nature Store with her brother, Geoff.
A Heart for Family
To her family, Carol Ann was a leader who loved fiercely. She turned long drives into sing-alongs for her daughters and was the fun-loving "Nana" who would be the first to zoom down a waterslide at Shining Waters to a chorus of "Go Nana!" For the last 20 years, she found great joy hiking the trails and beaches of PEI with her sisters and cousin Pat, discovering hidden gems and strengthening a bond that will never be broken.
Family and Loved Ones
Carol Ann will be dearly missed by her adoring partner, Eugene (Stu) Lavers; her loving daughters, Tasia Lerikos (Charles) and Christine Lerikos-Fischer (Peter); and stepsons, Jeff Corner (Dianne), Supa Corner (Kimba), and Paul Corner (Lori).
She is the cherished grandmother of Andrew Fischer (Colleen) and Blake Fischer (Erin), and great-grandmother to Avery and Noah. She also leaves behind her step-grandchildren, Christine, Crystal, and Wesley.
Carol Ann is survived by her sisters, Jane Mayer, Bea Keaveny (John), and Kathleen Ferris, as well as her step-brothers Alan Holman (Chrystyna), Harry Holman (Brenda), Jaime Holman (Kim), John Holman, David Holman, and Philip Holman (Ingrid).
In addition to her parents, Carol Ann was predeceased by her loving husband, Al Corner, beloved step-father, Alan Holman, and her cherished brother, Geoff Hogan.
