Catherine Lena (McQuaid) Laybolt

It is with heavy hearts, the family of Catherine Lena (McQuaid), loving wife of Clarence Laybolt, announces her sudden passing which occurred on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

Born in Prince Edward Island on October 14, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lena (Atkins) McQuaid. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Wilfred McQuaid (Brenda) and Rosemary McQuaid.

Besides her husband of 65 years, she is survived by her children David Laybolt, Tom Laybolt, Joey Laybolt (Cathy), Clarence Laybolt Jr. and Michelle Laybolt; son-in-law Barclay MacKay; siblings Sr. Regina McQuaid CND, Eva McQuaid, Norah Gorman (Jimmy), Lillian Power (Reg, dec.) Wayne McQuaid (Faye) of Alberta; grandchildren Jeremy (Jolene), Caelan, Rebekah, Paige and Allie; great granddaughters Skyler and Danika; numerous nieces and nephews.

Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, with visitation on Monday, June 9 from 4-7 pm. Her funeral mass will be celebrated from Holy Redeemer Church on Tuesday, June 10 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Catherine may be made to the PEI Lung Association. Please no scents.
