Catherine “Kate” Femmy Mary Cusack (Duffy), age 78, passed away peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on January 26th, 2026.
Born on November 30, 1947, to the late Ernest and Mary Duffy, Catherine spent most of her life in Emyvale and last worked at Bluefield High School. She loved to spend her spare time gardening, making assorted crafts, bird watching, attending sister day once a week, and tending to kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her devoted husband of almost 57 years, Leonard Cusack. Catherine was also the proud and loving mother of Peter Cusack (wife Kellie) of Summerside, Carrie Ellsworth (husband Scott) of Cornwall, Danny Cusack (wife Kylah Hennessey) of Charlottetown, John Cusack (fiancé Angela MacDougald) of Stratford, and Amy Cusack of North Rustico.
In addition, her faithful sisters Margaret (Jim McQuillan), Joan (Alfred Gallant), Theresa (Blaine Blacquiere), Gerarda (Edward Gallant) and Mary (Alan Miller).
She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Evan, Hilary, Daniel, Avery, Calen, Camden, Breton, Addison, Callie, Sophie, Maggie, Bennett, Davin and Sadie. They will dearly miss their “Nana”.
Catherine was predeceased by her two brothers Edmund and Martin Duffy.
She is resting at the Belvedere Funeral Home where a visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29th from 4-7 pm.

The family would also like to recognize the wonderful care that Catherine received during her time at the QEH. especially the entire nursing staff of Unit 3. They connected quickly with her quick wit and made extra efforts to ensure she was well cared for.
