Charles Carr Obituary

A life well-lived has come to the end of his earthy journey, with trust of his reward in the afterlife with his Heavenly Father.

The family of Charles William Carr of Sherwood, sadly announce his passing on March 11th, 2024 at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre in Charlottetown, at the age of 87 years.

Charles, a man of his word, leaves to mourn his loving wife of more than 57 years, Anna (MacMillan) as well as his three devoted children, Andrea (Ken Spenceley), Graeme (Bev Gerg) and Philip (Hara Kempton). Charlie was the proud and cherished Grampy to Karina McNeill, Nadia & Rylie Carr, and step-grandfather of Aidan Higginbotham.  Also survived by his only sister Jean Bulman (Exton, deceased), sisters-in-law Jean Carr and Audrey (Lowell) Farquharson, numerous nieces, nephews and Sarah and Hannah Spenceley.  With Charlie’s extensive involvement in both the Masonic Order and The Order of the Eastern Star, his passing will be felt far and wide within these fraternal organizations. Charlie is also survived by Scott McNeill (daughter Brianna) and Anna’s sisters Phyllis Taylor, Margaret Burhoe and Mona (Kirk Meldrum).  Charlie was predeceased by his parents Howard & Mae (Crabbe) Carr, his parents-in-law Ernest & Emma (MacNevin) MacMillan, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Mildred), John (Phyllis), Allison (Lois), Bennett, four siblings in childhood and his twin granddaughters Emma and Olivia McNeill.

Remains resting at Belvedere Funeral Home where visitation will be held on Friday, March 15th, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  St. John’s Lodge No.1 and Prince of Wales Lodge No. 18 will hold a Masonic Memorial Service immediately following the evening visitation in the Funeral Home Chapel and all Brethren are invited to attend.
