With heavy hearts the family of Christina “Chris” Campbell Floyd announces her sudden passing on Thursday, October 3, 2024, in Charlottetown. Born in Montague, PEI, on October 19, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Flora Floyd (neé Campbell), and niece of the late Rev. Donald and Mrs. Florrie Campbell (neé Paynter).
She is lovingly remembered by her first cousins Jane Morrell (Lorne), Elizabeth Bamforth (Steve), Charlie White (Carol) and Janet Eckler (Paul), and their families, and by her work family at CADC.
Chris was born in Montague and raised in Massachusetts, returning to the Island in her teen years to make Charlottetown her forever home. She went on to graduate from UPEI with a Bachelor of Education and for many years was part of PEI’s music supply scene as the smile behind the counter at Toombs Music. For more than twelve years she was a dedicated city employee at CADC, where she found her work family, and loved chatting to customers as they passed through the city’s parkades. She loved music, reading, traveling, and keeping up on current news.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, where a Celebration of Life will take place in the reception area on Thursday, October 10, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A private interment will take place in Valleyfield Cemetery on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Chris may be made to Hospice PEI or the QEH Foundation.
