It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daryl Martin Aiken at his home with his wife and parents by his side in Mississauga, Ontario on August 16th, 2022, at the age of 40. Daryl was born on November 2, 1981. Daryl leaves behind his wife, Vanessa Wade Aiken and his three sons, Sebastian, Reid, and Jonah Aiken. Daryl was the son of Alistair and Marlene Aiken, formerly of Stanchel, Prince Edward Island. Daryl is survived by his brothers Jamie (Kelley), Peter (Michelle) and his sister, Alison (Peter) Gaudet. His father and mother-in-law, Doug and Jackie Wade, and brother-in-law Andrew (Florencia) Wade from Ontario. Daryl had 15 nieces and nephews on PEI and Ontario and all were fond of their uncle Daryl. Survived by his grandmother, Margaret MacNevin of Charlottetown. Predeceased by his grandparents Hector MacNevin, and Robert and Alice Aiken. Daryl has a large number of aunts, uncles, and cousins on Prince Edward Island and elsewhere in Canada. Daryl studied at UPEI and then Western University and was employed by Pinchin Environmental Engineering in Mississauga. Daryl’s cancer journey over 20 months included surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation. Interment will be in Ontario. There was a Celebration of Life in Ontario. There will be a Memorial Service at Belvedere Funeral Home Chapel in Charlottetown on Thursday, November 24 at 7pm. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Daryl can be made to a charity of your choice.
