David (Bonco) Joseph Hanlon

David Hanlon (Bonco) March 11, 1942 – Jan 10, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of David Hanlon announce his peaceful passing on January 10, 2026 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Dave was a quiet, kind, and humble man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved the sunshine, spending winters in Florida, walking, reading and above all spending time with his three precious grandchildren.  He spent countless hours at bowling allies, rinks, soccer fields, rugby fields and gyms cheering on his grandchildren as they did what they loved.

Dave leaves behind fond and loving memories for his devoted wife of 58 years and his best friend Eileen. Daughter: Pierrette Dunn (Norm) and Son: Craig Hanlon (Lorna) and his grandchildren Jeff, Sara Jo and Leah Hanlon.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

We, the family, would like to send a big Thank You to Dr. Gallant and the Staff at the PEI Cancer Treatment Centre, QEH staff and Home Care staff for your care and support over the last couple of years. We will be forever grateful.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations in his memory made to Camp Gencheff (Rotary Children’s Camp) would be appreciated by the family.
