Deanna (Gail) Bernard

Surrounded by the love of her family and with gratitude for a life well lived, the death of Deanna Gail Bernard occurred peacefully, at her home in Cornwall, PEI, on January 1st, 2026 at the age of 82 years.

Gail was predeceased by her husband Robert L. Burns.

Gail was born on January 8th, 1943 to the late Gerard Bernard and Gladys Bernard in Summerside, PEI.

She will be deeply missed by her children, Kelley Burns-Coady (Steve Coady), Robert Burns (Rhonda Burns), Cherie Burns (Jeff Molyneux) as well as by her cherished life partner of 16 years, Ira K. “Mac” MacDonald.

“Great Grammie Gail” will live on in the hearts of her granddaughters Lauren, Meagan, Caitlin and Melissa and great-grandchildren Jacob, Jordyn, Owen and Mae.

Gail is survived by sisters Linda, Donna, Susan, and Heather along with brothers Greg and Robert. Gail was predeceased by siblings Patricia and Paul. 

A Celebration of Life with Family and Friends will be held in Spring, Gail’s favourite time of year, with further details to be announced in May.
