It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing on June 10, 2026, at the Beach Grove Home, of Douglas Gordon Hyde of Meadowbank at the age of 88.  Douglas was born in Meadowbank June 30, 1937.

Doug is survived by his beloved wife Norma J.  (MacLean) Hyde and children Kevin, Fred (Saylor nee Martin), Esther (Greg) White, Rebekah (Gerry) MacDonald, Sam, Joanna (David) Molyneaux and Jonathan.

Douglas was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Eva Hyde.   

He is also survived by brothers Wendell (Ellen), Harvey (Carol), and sister Connie (Gordon) Thurber.

Proud grandfather to Jonathan, Tedd, Jack, Malcolm, Nicholas, Stuart, Taylor and Kate.

Douglas was owner and operator of Royalty Plumbing and Heating for forty years and took great pride and pleasure in his work.

The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff at the Beach Grove Home for the professional care he received while there.

Resting at the Belvedere Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Saturday June 13, 2026 from 10:00am – 11:00 followed by the funeral service commencing at 11:00am.

You are invited to join the family for refreshments following the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre.

A private interment will take place later at the Hyde and Crosby Pioneer Cemetery in Meadowbank.
