It is with heavy hearts and an appreciation of a life well lived that the family of Douglas S. Moore announces his passing on Oct 5 at The Garden Home in Charlottetown, in his 95th year.
A lifelong resident of Parkdale, Doug started his first job at 8 years old picking berries at the experimental farms. He is a past President of the PEI Firefighters Association, previous Chairman to several committees including the Metro Emergency Response Committee, the PEI Firefighters Training School Committee, the Maritime Fire Chiefs Association. Additionally, he served as a Director with Canadian Fire Chiefs Association and attended the World Federation of Firefighters Delegation, representing Canada in Seatle, Washington.
Most importantly, Doug and Bernice raised 5 children: Norma Wood-Moore, Jamie (Anita), Gary (Gayle Roberts), Gerry (Janice) and Bernita Moore. He is survived by 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great- grandchildren.
Doug was predeceased by his mother Katie (Hurry) Moore, and brothers Blair (Eleanor), Barry (Betty) and Sterling (Betty) Moore.
