In loving Memory of Edward Addison Derby
July 7, 1936 – June 19, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we announce the passing of Edward Addison Derby, beloved son of the late James Addison and Margaret (Haberlin) Derby. A cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully on June 19, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born and raised in White Sands, Prince Edward Island, Edward carried with him the values of integrity, humility, and quiet strength throughout his life. He built a career in banking and later as a respected chartered accountant, known for his sharp intellect, unwavering ethics, and dedication to helping others succeed.
Edward was the beloved husband (63 years) of Audrey (Jenkins) Derby, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and partnership. Together, they raised five children: Cindy, Michael (Leanne), Shawna (Darrin), Paul (Sandra), and Lori (Joey), instilling in them the same values of kindness, perseverance, and family devotion that defined his life.
He was a proud and loving grandfather to Michael, Emily, Breanna, Cole, Madelyn, Cassandra, Nick, Alex, Sarah, Kaylee, James, Brittany, Logan, Nicole, and Jasmine. His joy only grew with the arrival of his great-grandchildren who brought light to his later years.
Edward was also a caring uncle to David (Stephanie) and Michelle Babin, and a steadfast presence in the lives of extended family and friends.
He will be remembered for his gentle wisdom, his sly humour, and the deep love he held for his family. Whether offering guidance, sharing stories, or simply sitting in quiet companionship, Edward made those around him feel valued and at peace.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22nd from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Belvedere Funeral Home.
