Elizabeth Hughes was born to parents, Vernon and Mary Hughes on December 11, 1933, in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada.


She was the eldest daughter of 3 girls. She worked briefly at an American Air Force Base in Newfoundland, Canada before moving to the US, where she lived the remainder of her life.


She married her husband Manuel Garcia, Jr., on April 27, 1963. Elizabeth was a loyal employee to the Girl Scout offices in Waterford for over 20 years while living in the Pontiac Area. Upon retirement, she and Manny moved to Tennessee where they both lived out the rest of their lives.


She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Flo Mackinnon; and her husband of 55 years, Manuel J. Garcia, Jr.


She is survived by her sister, Beverly Burling; daughter, Patricia "Trish" Merrell (Matthew); granddaughters, Breeana Webb (Bruce) and Shannon Patterson (Mike); her 6 great grandchildren, Jayden, Lyla, Joslyn, Irone, Ryan, and Dani; as well as countless nieces and nephews.


She made it 92 years on this earth...
