It is with heavy hearts, the family of Garth “Tucker” Thompson, devoted husband of Bev (Hogan) Thompson, announces his passing which occurred on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Born in Charlottetown, PE on January 21,1951, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Eileen (Weatherbie) Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his father and mother-in-law Richard and Marion Hogan; brother-in-laws Bill Hogan, Kevin Hogan, and Robert Wright and his sister-in-law Janice Duffy.
In addition to his loving wife Bev, of 47 years, he is survived by his daughter Jennifer Wilson (Mike) and son Mike Thompson (Jane); cherished grandchildren Payton and Shae Cahill and Raylea Wilson and Victoria and Mason Thompson; siblings David Thompson (Joyce), Donnie Thompson (Heather) and Gwyenne Corrigan (Wayne); brothers and sisters-in-law Joanne Hogan, Sherri Hogan (Danny), Ben Hogan (Marian), Father Lyndon Hogan, Bill Duffy, Julia Wright, Rick Hogan (Robyn), Pam Newcombe (Donnie) and Valerie Davies (Andrew); many nieces and nephews.
Garth worked for Canadian Tire for 33 years, retiring as a Department Manager. Garth and Bev enjoyed travelling together especially to Hawaii, Australia, and the Caribbean. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, to cook, play cards and have coffee with the boys. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, where a visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22 from 2-5 p.m. His funeral service will be held in the Belvedere Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, February 23 at 10:30 a.m.
Interment will take place at a later date.
Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Provincial Palliative Care Centre.
