George Blaine Auld, beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown, PE, with his loving family at his side. He was 69 years old. George was a pharmacist for more than 40 years who dedicated his life to helping others. He was a pillar of the village of Crapaud, whose quick wit, kindness and generosity endeared him to countless customers, coworkers and community members over the years.
He is survived by his wife Neila Auld, sons Blaine Auld and Evan Auld, and his adored canine companion Luna of Crapaud, PE; brother Errol (Betty) Auld of Stratford, PE; sister Heather (Dave) Auld of Richmond Hill, ON; sisters-in-law Catherine (Allan) Morrison of Vaughan, ON; Jeannie Morrison of Calgary, AB; Joan (Leo) Walsh of Watervale, PE; uncle Athol (Betty) Auld of Charlottetown, PE; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents Edison and Doris Auld of South Winsloe, PE; stepmother Mary Auld of Charlottetown, PE; uncle Keith Rackham and aunt Barbara Rackham of Wheatley River, PE; Phyllis (Dan) MacLean of Milton, PE; Joyce (Emerson) MacLeod of Ebenzer, PE; and father-in-law Fraser Morrison, mother-in-law Margaret Morrison and brother-in-law Milton Morrison of Glace Bay, NS.
Visitation will be held on May 2 from 4 to 7 PM at the main level of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kelly’s Cross, followed by a graveside service for family and close friends on May 3 at 11:30 AM with a reception afterward, also at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are encouraged to be made to the Humane Society of PEI or your local food bank.
