Hazel Mildred MacMillan, loving spouse of the late Hollis B Corney, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Born in Wood Islands, PE on March 1, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Alex S. and Jeannette (MacPhee) MacMillan. In addition to her spouse and parents she was predeceased by her siblings, Mary Lou Korrey, James MacMillan, Sterling MacMillan, and Sandra Galbarith.
She is survived by her son John Michael Blanchard; step-sons Delmar Corney and Athol Corney; sisters Pat Beaton (Bill) and Tildy Good (Boyd), nieces Darlene, Heather and Janet and nephew Paul, as well as survived by numerous nieces and nephews and extended MacMillan family.
Hazel worked in shoe sales for many years, along side her spouse Hollis at Corney Shoe Store. She loved to socialize, walking the boardwalk and was an avid hockey fan. She was a well-known volunteer for Parkinson’s Society.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, with visitation on Friday, September 5 from 4 -7 p.m. Her funeral service will be held from Belvedere Funeral Home on Saturday, September 6 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. John’s Presbyterian Cemetery, Belfast, PE.
