The death occurred peacefully at The Mount Continuing Care on Tuesday, April 14th, 2026 of Helen Ruth Dunbar-Weir of Charlottetown, age 92 years.
Beloved wife of Walter Weir. Loving mother to Paul (Nancy) and Mark. Dearest grandmother to Stephen and Kimberly Simpson (Gregory). Helen will be missed by many nieces and nephews especially Elaine, Sharon, and Wayne Edgely of Toronto. She is also survived by her brother Kenneth MacDonald (Joan), and sister-in-law Theresa MacDonald.
Predeceased by her first husband, William Dunbar, her parents, Andrew and Mae MacDonald, her siblings Andrew, Alfred, and James MacDonald, Jean MacDonald (twin sister), Rose McInnis, Isabelle Finnerty, and Frances MacDonald, and her sisters-in-law Rosaleen Edgely, and Nancy Dunbar.
The family would like to thank the Mount for the excellent care that was given to Helen while she was a resident there.
Arrangements entrusted to Belvedere Funeral Home. A burial service will be held at a later date in Toronto at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
