Helen Eileen Jones (93yrs), of Charlottetown/Summerside, PEI, formerly of Hillgrove, NB, passed away Sunday, May 25 at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Born in Hillgrove to the late Foster and Gertrude (Collier) Davis, Helen was the beloved wife of Ronald Beecher Jones.
Helen was a gardener and craftsperson extraordinaire. She used her green thumb to create magnificent flower beds to the enjoyment of those who visited her Cornwall home or Argyle Shore cottage. Her hands were never idle during fall and winter when Christmas crafts became her forte. Many PEI Christmas craft fair patrons delighted in her stained-glass creations and Christmas wreaths. Helen was a kind and loving neighbour who enjoyed sharing the company of many young people throughout her life.
Helen is survived and dearly missed by her husband of 75 years, Ronald B. Jones; her children Ronald Dwight Jones (Janice) of Grande Prairie, AB; Daniel Ian Jones (Angie) of Calgary, AB; grandchildren Brennen, Shannon, Meaghan and David; great-grandchildren Ewan, Elliot, Levi, Blakely and Sophie. Helen will also be missed by those whom she and Ron had developed special family bonds; Peter and Corina Bolo of Alberton, PEI and their children Nathan and Matthew; Helen Gallant (late Roger Gallant) and her children Roger Jr., Paul, Colin and Shana as well as Shana’s son, Jayden; and Jacques and Cynthia Boisvert and their children David and Janice.
Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her brother Norman Davis and her sisters, Marie Chapman (Harold), Mildred Mullins (Edwin), Edna Kaye (Arnold), Vera Dempsey (Walter), Ethel Drury (Les), Elsie Tower (Royden), Phyllis Smith (Harris) and Gladys Smith (Hubert).
The funeral is scheduled for 11:00 am on Monday, June 2 at the Belvedere Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be livestreamed via the following link Livestream.
