Helen Margaret Stewart MacRae Obituary

Surrounded by the love of her family and with an appreciation for a life well lived, the death of Helen Margaret Stewart MacRae occurred on January 21, 2026 in her 100th year.


Helen went to her Lord and precious family members who have gone before her, in her sleep, at the Mount Continuing Care and being surrounded by love from everyone. She is now free from pain and dementia.


Helen was predeceased by her loving husband, William Allison “Al” MacRae.


Dear mother of Janet Grant (Les) and Jill MacAulay. Loving grandmother of Erin Keleher, Jeff MacRae, Melissa McCarville, Mark Townsend, Maranda Key, Maggie Merritt, Alyson Bradley, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.


Also survived by daughters-in-law, Debbie MacRae and Pearl McQuaid.


In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sons, Robert (Bob) MacRae and Brian MacRae, and her son-in-law, Derek MacAulay.


Helen had a strong faith in Our Lord which guided her to be a very loving, kind, generous wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her love for all her family was beyond imagination. 


Helen had a long prestigious career as a Pianist/Organist. Organist for Zion Presbyterian, First Baptist Church, Sherwood Christian Church and Belvedere Funeral Home. Pianist for The Venerables, Confederation Boys and Girls Choirs. Organist for the formal visits of Queen Elizabeth II, twice, and Prince Charles and Diana. Helen received the Order of PEI in 1997 and the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2023.


Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Belvedere Funeral Home. No visitation or service by personal request. A private service will be held at a later date.
