Hugh Daniel MacDonald

The death occurred, surrounded by the love of his family, of Hugh Daniel MacDonald on Monday, January 20th, 2025 at the Garden Home at the age of 79 years. Hugh will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Betty (nee Smith) MacDonald. 

Hugh was born on August 8, 1945 to the late Hugh J. and Mary (nee MacInnis) MacDonald.

He will be dearly missed by his loving children, Dany (Vénessa) and Philip (Valérie).

He leaves behind his adored grandchildren, Anthony, Sofia, Logan and Ashley. 

He is survived by his siblings, Lester, Kay (Urban), Minnie (Ronnie), May (John), Irene, and Judy (Wayne).

In addition to his parents, Hugh was predeceased by his daughter Sandra, and siblings, Boyd and Edey (Warren MacKinnon – deceased). 

Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home where a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 8th in the Belvedere Funeral Home Reception Centre between 2 and 4 p.m. There will be speakers during the Celebration of Life commencing at 2:30 p.m. and this portion of the celebration will be livestreamed via the following link Livestream.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Hugh may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation or the Garden Home Activity Fund (please mail cheques to the Garden Home, 310 North River Road, Charlottetown, PE C1A 3M4).
