Surrounded by the love of his family, and with an appreciation for a life well lived, the death of Irwin Daniel Docherty occurred on Sunday, March 2nd, 2025 at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre at the age of 72 years. Irwin is survived by his wife, Lorna (nee MacLean).
Irwin was born on April 27, 1952 to the late Douglas and Teresa (nee McEntee) Docherty.
He will be dearly missed by his loving children, Mark (Lindsay), Marlo, and Lori.
Irwin leaves behind his adored grandchildren, Harrison, Lauren, Briar, and Mairin.
He is survived by his brothers, Roger (Janet), Vernon (Sharon), and Kevin; his sisters, Mary (Reg) MacKinnon, Darlene (Harold) MacKay, Gloria (Floyd) Newman, and Anita (Rabbit) MacDonald; his brothers-in-law, Donnie MacLean, Heath (Marilyn), and Robert (Shelley); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, was predeceased by his first wife, Glenda (nee McInnis).
The family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at the PEI Cancer Treatment Center and the Provincial Palliative Care Centre for the exceptional and compassionate care they provided to Irwin and all of the family through this difficult process.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 1 p.m.
Interment will take place at a later date in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Irwin may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
