At 71 years old, Janis passed away on October 6th, 2025 at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, PEI. Born in Charlottetown, PE, she was the daughter of Harold Spurgeon Jenkins and Audrey Steeves (Dixon). She is survived by her two sisters; Susan Bruce and Cynthia Gass of Halifax. She was pre-deceased by her parents, sister Cheryl (Jenkins) MacLean and her brother John Jenkins.

A long time resident of Charlottetown, P.E.I., she will be remembered as a woman with strong opinions and a passion for good conversation. She spent her entire career as a dedicated telephone operator with Island Tel and later, Bell Aliant. She loved a great meal and good company and was specially thankful for Celia, Francis and Barb’s friendship at the end of her life. We’d also like to thank the care team at the QEH.

Cremation has taken place. At Janis's request there was no visitation. A private family burial remembrance service will be conducted at a later date.
