Surrounded by the love of her family, Jean Burgoyne (nee Williams) of Stratford (formerly Cornwall and Grahams Road) passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, at the age of 90.  Born on the Fountain Road July 28, 1934, to Walter and Esther (Woodside) Williams. Beloved wife of 70 Years to Layton Burgoyne and loving mother of Joyce (Mike), Erroll (Sandra), Barb (Graham), Ross (Amy), Brenda (George), Glenda (Greg) and Heather (Bob) and special fur baby Isabelle. Jean, the “Pickle Queen,” will always be remembered for her welcoming home, homemade bread & baking and tea parties. Jean studied at Prince of Wales College and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Layton and Jean worked diligently to establish the successful family business that Burgoyne Construction Ltd. is today.

Proud Grammie to Layton Jr. and Stephen (Laura), Brittany (Chad) and Courtney (Mitchell), Kendra (Devon), Mallory, Robert, Christopher (Leshem), Abby and Ella. Special Great Grammie to Patrick & Aaron, Kylie & Wyatt, Rhett & Eli Layton, and Mila. Step-Grammie to Brittany, Jeremy, Joel and Kirsten, Zack, Jacinda & Nick. Step-Great Grammie to Harrison, Daevon & Darius and Henry & Margaret.

Survived by nephew Dennis (Phyllis) Williams. Sister-in-law to Willis Burgoyne, Jaret (Josilin) Burgoyne, Irma (Danny) Nisbet, Lloyd Burgoyne, Lorne Burgoyne (Audrey), Gordon Toombs and Wendell Burgoyne (Debra) and numerous other nieces & nephews on the Burgoyne side.

Predeceased by her parents, Daughter and Son-in-law Barbara & Graham Coupland, Brother Francis Williams (Olga), Special Uncle James Williams (Jennie) and Cousins Margaret Newson and Barbara Hubley.  Parent-in-laws John R. and Annie (Somers) Burgoyne, In-laws Ellis Burgoyne (Ruth), Horace Burgoyne (Ruby), Elaine Burgoyne (Raymond), Mildred Heater, and Wilna Toombs.

The Burgoyne Family would like to thank Kimberley and Charlene (caregivers), the PEI Home Care Team, the PEI COACH Program and the PEI Palliative Team for their continuous care and compassion.

Resting at the Belvedere Funeral Home, with the service to be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 10:30 AM. Interment in the New London Cemetery at a later date.
