Jessie E. (Hansen) MacFadyen

It is with heavy hearts, the family of Jessie E. (Hansen) MacFadyen, wife of the late Neil MacFadyen, announces her passing which occurred on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, following a brief illness.

Born in Charlottetown, PE on July 3, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Sarah (Gass) Hansen. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she was predeceased by her son Christopher, daughter-in-law Alana and sister Ruth MacKinnon.

She is survived by her children Corey MacFadyen, Amanda MacFadyen (Daniel MacKinnon) and Charmayne MacFadyen; cherished grandchildren Connor, Kayla, Valicia, Sophie, Zachary, Kane and Jay; sisters Joan Smith (Gerry), Ann Mitchel (Preston, dec.) and Brenda Corbett (Donnie); brothers-in-law Ozzie MacKinnon, Lloyd MacFadyen (Alice) and Lester MacFadyen (Lois); sisters-in-law June Hicks (Peter) and Gloria MacFadyen; several nieces and nephews.

Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, with visitation on Friday, August 23 from 4 – 7 p.m. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 24 at 2 p.m. from the Belvedere Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Churchill Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Because of her love and dedication to children and families in her community, donations can be made to Anderson House.
