It is with heavy hearts the family of Joan Louise (Stetson) MacLean, loving and devoted wife of Eurie N. MacLean, announces her passing on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, PE. Born in O’Leary, PE on May 3, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Errol and Isabel (Ramsay) Stetson.
Besides her husband of 69 years, Eurie, she is survived by her children Darryl (Debbie), Rhonda and Glenn (Gayle); daughter-in-law Karyn; grandchildren Danielle, Marshall (Ashley), Morgan (Kara) and Matthew; great grandchildren Carter, Frankie Mae and Myles; brother Keith Stetson; sister-in-law June DeYoung and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Paul MacLean; brothers-in-law Allan MacLean and Frank Deyoung; sisters-in-law Anna Stetson and Barb MacLean and nephew Wade Stetson.
Joan was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a very active member of the Hunter River Lions Club. Joan was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting, camping and Blue Grass Festivals, most importantly spending time with her family.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, with visitation on Monday, September 1 from 4-7 p.m. Her funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, September 2 at 11am. Interment will take place in Hunter River United Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Hunter River United Church.
