On March 30, 2026, Joan “Marie” Howatt (née Gauthier) of Charlottetown, formerly of South Freetown, passed away peacefully with family by her side.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Stephen Howatt (Kelley McGuire), Jane Craswell, and Tricia Thompson; grandchildren: Emily (Cailin), Sarah (Ayden), Jesse, Brenna, Abby, and Evie; great-grandchildren: Maris, Arlo, Tully, and Nieve; brother Paul Gauthier (Helena); sister Yvonne Hercus (Denny, deceased); and sister-in-law Jeanne Gauthier-MacKenzie (Gerard - deceased), sister-in-law Sheliagh (Arthur - deceased).
She was predeceased by her brothers: Gerard and Arthur and her parents: Emily May Gauthier (née LeClair) and Jean Elmer Gauthier.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Belvedere Funeral Home. In lieu of a service, we will celebrate her memory by continuing her work of giving, loving, and serving one another.
