It is with heavy hearts that the family of John William Pyke, husband of Linda (Gauthier) Pyke, announces his passing which occurred on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, following a brief illness. Born in Morrell, PE, on September 1, 1947, he was the son of the late Addison and Jenny (MacDonald) Pyke. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Preston and grandson Cody Walsh.
In addition to his wife of 58 years, Linda, he is survived by his children John Jr., Donna and Cheryl (Frank Maurath), grandchildren Logan MacNabb (Taylor) and Kiana Maurath; great granddaughter Vivienne; brother Boyd Pyke (Karen), sister Wanda Dalton (Harley, dec.), best friends Ralph DesRoche and Warren Phillips; his feline companions Benjamin and Franklin and several nieces and nephews.
John worked for Perfection Foods (ADL) for his working career, retiring as a working foreman. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, working on his computer, collecting guns and coins. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, where a visitation will be held on Thursday February 5 from 4-7 p.m. There will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics PEI.
