Joseph Power Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph (Joe) Power of Lake George, NB on December 20th, 2024 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Joe was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island on December 2nd, 1946, to Rita (Kelly) and Emmett Power.

After graduating UPEI, he spent most of his early working years as a salesman. Since growing up on a farm, his true passion was with animals and the land, which sent him to work at Kings Landing for over 20 years. He worked all over the site but loved working the most with his horses and his Kings Landing family. In retirement, you could always see him out in the yard, tending to his garden, mowing the lawn or driving his tractor.

Leaving to mourn are his loving wife Carol Ann (LeClair), daughter Angela Parker (David), two sons Andrew (Joan) and Tim (Andrea). Loving Grampy to Lucy Parker, Jack Power and Ryleigh Parker. Nine siblings, Helen, Mary (Raymond), Charles (Josephine), Colleen, Isabel (Kerry), Eddie (Theresa), Theresa (Wayne), Bernadette (Brian), Anne Marie (Kelly); sisters-in-law Karen (Edward), Sherry (Mark) and Betty Ann, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins too numerous to count.

Joe was predeceased by his parents, two brothers-in-law Paul and Joey and a niece Alana.

The funeral service was held on Friday December 27th, 2024 at St. Anne’s Church, 716 Church St., Kingsclear, NB with Father Bill Brennan officiating. The first reading was by Joe's sister Bernadette Schmeisser and the second reading and Prayers of the People were delivered by his sister Isabel Quinn. Urn bearers were grandchildren Jack, Ryleigh and Lucy. Interment will be at a later date at St. Mark’s Cemetery, Lake George, NB.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes Canada.

Thank you to the kind nurses in the emergency room and 3SW. Special thanks to Dr. J. Ginn for his kindness and care.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Flewelling Funeral Home in Nackawic NB.
