Keith Jennings Obituary

“Our pain is great, but our love is much greater.”

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Keith on September 15, 2025. He leaves behind his wife Lorna (nee Gregory), his best friend and the love of his life. Together, they shared 47 beautiful years of marriage. Keith was a devoted and most loving dad to Denessa, Kendall (Jennifer), and Deidre (Rickey) MacDonald. He was the best Grampie to his cherished grandsons, Carson and Nate MacDonald, who brought him immense joy.

Keith found much happiness in helping his children and grandchildren. No task was ever too big or too small. He was a man of few words. He was patient and kind, with a heart of gold. He enjoyed music, dancing, sports, and spending time caring for his home and property. Saturday nights often found him jiving and waltzing with Lorna on the dance floor. We will remember his gentle whistle, the jingle of change in his pocket, and his quiet willingness to help us, teach us and comfort us whenever we needed him.

Throughout his life, Keith worked at Colville Manor, fished lobster and tuna, painted homes, and worked as a machinist at Hall & Stavert. He spent many years as a nursing attendant at Hillsborough Hospital, where his kind, quiet, and humorous nature earned him the respect and friendship of colleagues and patients alike. He cared deeply for all those in his care.

In the past few years, Keith faced a rare illness, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, with unwavering courage and grace. He never complained, despite the challenges it brought. He leaned on his faith and displayed great courage while being cared for at home by his family. In his final weeks, he received compassionate care from the dedicated staff at Beach Grove Home. We would also like to thank Health PEI Home Health Care team for their support, compassion and professional care over the past year.

Keith is survived by his siblings Sandra, Ricky (Brenda), and Nadine (Larry); sisters-in-law Mary, Dot, and Gail Jennings. He will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as members of the Gregory family.

He was predeceased by his loving parents, James and Edna (Dugas) Jennings of Souris; siblings Jackie, George, Mary Rodd, Billy, Gail McCarville, Sam, Dougie, Brian, and Billy and Blanche in infancy; brother-in-law Hughie McCarville; sisters-in-law Margaret and Joanne Jennings; and his parents-in-law, Charles and Renilda Gregory, along with other members of the Gregory family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Belvedere Funeral Home in Charlottetown, with visitation to take place on Thursday, September 18 from 4 to 7 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Pius X Church in Parkdale on Friday, September 19 at 11 am, followed by interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery.

In honour of Keith’s love for children, memorial donations may be made to the Make-a-Wish Foundation Canada.

On the hard days, we will remind ourselves that we wouldn’t trade the love to escape the grief. We wouldn’t erase the happiness to avoid the pain. And we will endure a lifetime of missing you for the privilege of having loved you—and knowing you loved us.
