It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear brother, Kenneth (Ken) Darby, who left us peacefully on March 4, 2026, at the age of 60. Born in Charlottetown PE, Ken’s life was not without its struggles. Though he faced hardships, he carried within him a spark that would ignite a quick smile, a clever sense of humor, and a tenderness at times, that no one would expect. Beneath the hardships, he had a kind heart and a love for his family. Though his life’s journey was not always an easy one he always pushed through and made the best of it. He is survived by his sisters, Wanda Green (Ron) and Bonnie MacDonald (Warren). His stepfather, Merrill Oatway. Uncle to Trevor and Mark Green (Katy Halgren), Matthew and Natasha MacDonald (Matt Murphy). Great Uncle to Dominic and Colton Green and Tiernan, Vincent and Kenzie Murphy. Nephew to Cheryl and Donnie Judson and Cousin to Tracey (Clay Thomson) and Jeff Judson, Sande Terry and Tanya Terry. Predeceased by his mom, Fay Oatway, step-father, Edwin Darby and Aunt and Uncle Gail & Pat Terry and grandparents, Viola (Vi) and Reg Thomas. In lieu of flowers, family invites donations to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home where a Celebration of Life will be held in the reception room, on Saturday, March 14 from 1-3 PM. Interment later in the New Dominion Cemetery. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the management and staff of Grafton House for their care and compassion while Ken was a resident. As well as, the nursing staff of Unit 3, Dr. Murphy and Dr. Hennessey for their amazing care and compassion for Ken during his last days.
