Marcia Ellen Johnston

It is with heavy hearts and appreciation of a life well lived, that we announce the passing of Marcia Ellen Johnston (nee Hunter), who left us peacefully on January 11, 2025, at the age of 81. 

Born on May 16, 1943, to Russell and Louise Hunter, in Summerside, PEI, Marcia was known for her warmth, kindness, and good heart.  She was a selfless and devoted wife, mother and a loyal friend. Her nurturing spirit and warm smile brought comfort and happiness to those around her.

Loving wife of 60 years to Dr Edward Johnston, Cornwall.  Beloved mother to Melanie (Paul), Heather (Ted), and Andrew (Nancy).  Grandmother to Emma (JD and Eli), Maddie, Hunter, Brooke, and Evan.  Fondly remembered by her cousin Claudia and Ed’s sister, Marg, and brother, Herb, and their families as well as friends and families from Alcan Drive and the Beach Grove girls who also have great memories of time spent together over the years.

Heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Atlantic Baptist Home. After a lifetime of Marcia caring for others, we are comforted by their exceptional care and kindness.

No visitation or funeral by personal request.   Arrangements entrusted to the Belvedere Funeral Home.  If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Society of PEI.

Marcia will be dearly missed and forever remembered for the love and light she brought into the world.
