Margaret Helen Phalen (aka, G-ma Phalen) passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Beach Grove Nursing Home. Born in Vernon Bridge, PE on October 17, 1937, she was the matriarch of many and has left a legacy of strong people. She was very loved and will be missed! Daughter of the late Charles and Edna Murphy. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Edward Joseph Phalen, grandchildren Willie Phalen, Racheal Chandler, and Jumoke Phalen, daughter Michelle Phalen, siblings Joan MacDonald, Jean Hepler, Kenneth Murphy, and Maurice Murphy.

She is survived by her children Paula Costello (Kent), Cheryl McGillivray (David), Barbara Phalen, Debra Chandler, Daniel Phalen (Marion), Edward Phalen, Mary Phalen (Craig Mackie) and Heather Phalen (Carla MacAdam); siblings Linda Murphy, Beatrice Kelly, Valerie Ward and Tommy Murphy; many grandchildren, great grandchildren,and nieces and nephews.

Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, with visitation on Tuesday, April 15 from 4-7 p.m. Her funeral mass will be celebrated from St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Sturgeon, PE on Wednesday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in the church cemetery, with a gathering at the church hall to follow. Donations in memory of Helen may be made to the St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Sturgeon.
