Marie Florence (Batchilder) Mahar

Surrounded by the love of her family and with an appreciation for a life well lived, the death of Marie Florence Mahar (nee Batchilder) occurred on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at the age of 90 years. Marie was predeceased by her husband, Howard Mahar.

Marie was born on November 28, 1934 to the late, Milford and Margaret (nee McAleer) Batchilder.

She will be dearly missed by her loving children, Cindi MacDonald (Kevin), Colleen MacKay (Ron), Cathi Goodwin (Elwood), and Randy (Jackie).

She leaves behind her adored grandchildren, Vanessa, Jennifer, Lauren, Michele, Ryan, Bryanna, Shelby, Logan, Taylor, and Miranda, as well as many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Marie is survived by her brother-in-law, Ray, and sisters-in-law, Arlene and Dora.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was predeceased by brothers, Gerald, Paul and Bill; sister, Shirley; sisters-in-law Sue and Gloria; and granddaughter, Jillian.

Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home where a visitation will be held on Monday, July 21 from 4-7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer on Tuesday, July 22 at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marie may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of PEI.
