Mildred Elizabeth "Betty" Savidant (nee Henderson) of Charlottetown passed away peacefully at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the age of 91, surrounded by her family after a brief battle with cancer.
After only four short months apart, Betty is reunited with her loving husband of 70 years, Earl Joseph Savidant.
Betty will be deeply missed by her devoted sons, Earl (Lesley) and Ron, and her cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Kayla, and Carson.
She is survived by her beloved sisters, Gail Scott, Lorna Scott, and Debbie MacRae, as well as her sisters-in-law, Jeannie MacDonald, Joyce Keizer, and Shirley McIsaac.
She was predeceased by her parents, Marion and Warren Henderson; her parents-in-law, Francis and Alice Savidant; her beloved sister, Wanda Doiron; and her brothers-in-law, Bob MacRae, Garth Scott, Carl Scott, and Lorne Doiron.
Betty dedicated many years of service to Island Tel, but her true passion was her family. She was a devoted wife, a proud mother to her boys, and a loving grandmother. Betty had a special place in her heart for children, and her kindness touched every child fortunate enough to be in her presence. She was also a long-standing and faithful member of the Salvation Army.
Betty's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. MacLaren and the exceptional staff at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre for their compassionate care. We also appreciate the support of all who visited, called, and sent messages during her final weeks, with special thanks to her dear friend, Lorraine Ellis.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home. In accordance with Betty's wishes, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. A private graveside service for immediate family and invited guests will be held at People's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Salvation Army or the Provincial Palliative Care Centre would be greatly appreciated.
