It is with heavy hearts, the family of Mildred “Millie” Joan Weldon-Fisher, wife of John B. Fisher, announces her peaceful passing on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the Mount Continuing Care. Born in Tracadie, PE on November 11, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Edith Margaret (O’Halloran) and Patrick James Mullen. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her first husband John David Weldon and sister Phyllis Bell.
In addition to her husband of 10 years, John, she is survived by her son Peter of Toronto, sisters Shirley Mary Jay (Paul, dec.) and Patricia Carragher (George, dec.).
Before her marriage she work was as a teacher and remained active as a tutor and volunteer throughout her life. She was an avid painter and artist and enjoyed the creative things.
She was always happiest surrounded by family, preferably large gatherings with everyone together. Those closest to her, her sisters in particular, were never far from her thoughts, even as she had the opportunity to live across Canada and the world.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, with visitation on Thursday, March 12 from 4-6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Bonaventure Church, on Friday, March 13 at 10:30 a.m.
The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers of the Prince Edward Home and the Mount for their care.
Donations may be made to the Charlottetown Food Bank or the charity of choice.
