It is with heavy hearts and appreciation for a life well lived, the family of Norine Mary (Kelly) Rooney, announces her peaceful passing, which occurred on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the Mount Continuing Care Community. Born in Roseville, PE, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Bernice (Griffin) Kelly. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers and sisters Keith Kelly (Carrie), Claude Kelly (Ethel), Monica “Necy” Murphy (Gerald), Alfreda Corcoran (Norbert) and Mary Cain (Phil). 

She is survived by her devoted son Mark (Stephanie), her cherished grandchildren Sean and Matthew, and many nieces and nephews. 

Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, with visitation on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. 

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Pius X Church on Tuesday, July 29 at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery. 

Mark and his family wish to express their sincere gratitude to the staff, residents, and families of The Mount Continuing Care Community for their wonderful care and friendship over the past decade. 

Norine taught school for 35 years, the last 18 at her beloved Sherwood School.  Donations in her memory may be made to the new school’s playground fund, by e-transfer to markwrooney@gmail.com.
