Norma Leona Stewart (nee Pound) passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Gordon Stewart and was predeceased by Lowell, Eliza, Clara, Tressa, Jean, Melvin, George, Lloyd, Annie, Helen, Ora, Reagh, and Donnie.
Born in Fredericton, PEI, Norma’s proudest moment was graduating from Prince Of Wales College then venturing to Ontario where she worked for Ontario Hydro and then she dedicated her life to raising her beloved children: Paul (Barb), Gary, Shelley, and John (Donna). Returning to her cherished roots in PEI, she worked at Sears and Kirkwood, enjoying summers in Cavendish.
Norma was a pillar of strength and love, embodying the essence of a devoted mother and grandmother. She was renowned for her butter tarts, jelly cookies, and domino playing skills.
Her true pride and joy were her grandchildren, Krista, Tyler (Madi), Megan (Josh), and Alex (Taylor), and her great-grandchildren, Sophie, Lincoln, and Owen. She treasured every moment spent with her family and friends, creating lasting memories that will be forever cherished.
Her legacy of love, dedication, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Care for Norma has been entrusted to Belvedere Funeral Home where a visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25th from 10-11 a.m. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 11 a.m. For those unable to attend, this service will be livestreamed and may be viewed here Livestream.
