It is with heavy hearts & sadness that the family of Patricia Clare (Melanson) Willis announces her peaceful passing at the Prince Edward Home, on October 15th 2025 at the age of 82. Pat is survived by her husband Vernon, sister Ruth Barry, daughter Heather, son Kevin (Lisa), grandsons Colton (Lauren), and Reace (Brianna). Pat is predeceased by her parents, Harold & Ola (Morrell) Melanson, brother-in-law Alfred Barry.
Pat was born March 17th, 1943 in Amherst, N.S. At an early age her family moved to Sackville N.B. where she completed her education at Sackville Public Schools and Mount Allison University with a diploma in Education. While at University, she met Vernon. They were married in 1963 and remained together for 62 years.
Pat’s passion was teaching young Children, both in public school and in her own home. Vernon and her enjoyed camping all over North America and time with family at their cottage. She was a member of the Women Institute and various church groups. Above all Pat was proud of her daughter, son and grandchildren.
While having a long battle with Dementia, Pat received excellent care from Home Care, EMS, QEH and the staff at Prince Edward Home.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home where visitation will be held on Monday October 20th from 4 to 7pm.
The funeral service will be in Milton at St. John’s Anglican Church on Tuesday October 21st at 11 am. Interment and reception to follow.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Milton Church Cemetery or the Humane Society.
