It is with heavy hearts the family of Richard “Dick” Ian Clinton, loving husband of Janet (Keough) Clinton, announces his passing which occurred on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Born in Montreal, PQ on July 19, 1940, he was the son of the late Agnes Clinton. Dick grew up in Charlottetown then moved to Victoria by the Sea. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his son Paul, brothers Bill and Charlie; father and mother-in-law Wildred and Lila Keough, brother-in-law Nelson Keough; sisters-in-law Florence Gallant (Melvin), Kathleen Keough (Garnet), Reta Keough and Ruthie Keough.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, Janet, he is survived by his children Carolyn Clinton-Poole (Paul) and Rick Clinton; grandchildren Tristan, Kolby and Madison (Jackson); his cockatiel Echo; brother and sister-in-law Vince and Ruth Keough; longtime friend and co-worker Jack Devine and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held in the reception room of Belvedere Funeral Home on Friday, January 23 from 4-7 p.m. Interment will take place in Crapaud Peoples Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Dick may be made to the PEI Humane Society, Kidney Foundation or to the charity of choice.
