Roma Katherine Shaw

In remembrance of a remarkable mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Roma Catherine Shaw, BScN, who departed this life for the next, on April 5, 2024.  Roma was born in Montague, PE on August 16, 1931, as the cherished daughter of George and Gladys Preece.

Besides her parents, Roma was predeceased by her loving husband John Shaw, as well as her siblings Hilda, Cyril, Douglas and Desmond.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters Catherine (Robert) Lyons and Joanne (Craig) Walker.  Wonderful MeeMee to her cherished grandchildren, Joel (Ella) and Nick (Heather) Walker and Scott, Bradford and Michelle Lyons.  Adored great grandchildren Daphne, Hazel, Eric and Fiona Walker and Ella’s son, Maor.

Roma also leaves behind special friends Helen and Tim, her many Montague friends and all of her friends and tablemates at Burnside Community Care Facility

A funeral service will take place at Hillcrest United Church, Montague on Tuesday April 23rd at 2:00 P.M. Interment will take place at Community Park Cemetery at a later date.

For those who wish to, donations may be made in Roma’s memory to the Montague Food Bank or any organization supporting women’s health.
