Ruth Estelle Heron

Ruth Estelle Heron, age 102, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Garden Home in Charlottetown, on May 3, 2024. Ruth is survived by her children, Estelle, Eileen, Marina (Peter), and Brian (Donna)., her grandchildren, Donna-Lee, Wayne, Michelle (Zack), Jeffery, Bradley, Melanie, Chris (Laura), Shane (Rachel), and Chad (Laura), and her great-grandchildren, Meagan, Alanna, Rhys, Sawyer, Bennett, Alex, Eli, Julia, and Charles. She was predeceased by her husband Howard, parents Mary Ann and Patrick, son Frank, sons-in-law Leo and John and her siblings Margaret, Reta, Helen, Eileen, Reg, Lornie, Rollie, Howard, Frank, Pete, and Charlie.

Ruth was raised with her eleven brothers and sisters in Pisquid. She married Howard on May 17th, 1944.  While raising their children she worked on the farm and did housecleaning at the Hillsborough Hospital. She loved to bake (her biscuits will be missed), step dance, play bingo, and cheering for the Blue Jays.

Ruth is resting at Belvedere Funeral Home where a visitation will be held Monday May 6th from 4-7pm. A funeral service will be held Tuesday May 7th at 11 am in St. Patrick’s Church, Fort Augustus with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
