Ruth Alice (Costain) Shaw

It is with heavy hearts and appreciation for a life well lived, the family of Ruth Alice Shaw, wife of the late Perley S. Shaw, announces her peaceful passing which occurred on Monday, May 22,2023 at her home. Born in Miminegash, PE on September 23, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Howard Terrence and Emmeline (Cannon) Costain. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her daughter June Anne Shaw, sons Uttley Shaw and Lester Shaw, grandsons Jonathan Shaw and Justin Simmonds, granddaughter Kimberley MacDonald, brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children Terry Shaw (Brenda), Sumner Shaw (Cheryl), Hazel Doucette (Pius), Dorothy Shaw, Judy Stretch (Ian), Susan Mancuso, Darlene Shaw, Norman Shaw (Mary) and Sherry Shaw (Jim); daughter-in-law Kay Shaw; 36 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren, sister-in-law Thelma Shaw; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She will always be remembered for her love of cooking and baking, but most importantly her family was the greatest joy in her life.
