With heavy hearts, we sadly announce the passing of Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Shirley Elizabeth Chappell (nee Myers). The peaceful passing occurred Saturday, November 30 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown.
Shirley was born to Mary and Gordon Myers of Mount Albion on August 31, 1935. Predeceased by husband Sterling Chappell and daughter Cindy. Loving Mother of Gordie (Amy) Chappell, Larry (Kathy) Chappell, Wendy (Kenny) Chappell and Ted (Shelly) Chappell. Proud Grandmother of Trevor Chappell and Sherry Lusk; Brodye, Cole and Skyler Chappell; Alex and Tanner Chappell; Zach, Nicholas and Caitlynn Chappell. Loving Great Grammie to Gunner, Beau, Lennox, Kyaira, Kenson, Kalleb, Chloe and Dylan; and a Great-Great Grammie to Trevor. Survived by three loving and supportive sisters, Marie Thorne, Judy (Erwin) Smith and Brenda (Dave) McIlwaine.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are encouraged to be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Charlottetown Food Bank.
By Family request, there will be no visitation. A Family-based Celebration of Life will be held at the Belvedere Funeral Home on Friday, December 6. An interment to Birch Hill Cemetery will follow.
