Sister Joan MacDonald (Sr. Maria Goretti)

Peacefully, at the Mount Continuing Care Community, on Sunday, March 5, 2023 of Sister Joan MacDonald (Sister Maria Goretti) of Blooming Point, aged 92 years. Fondly remembered by her Martha Sisters, her brother Roddie, brother-in-law Terrence McKenna, and her nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents Roderick and Mary, her sisters Mary McBride and Margaret McKenna, and her brothers John and Lorne (Kathleen).  Resting at the Mount Continuing Care Chapel with visitation on Wednesday, March 8 from 1:15-2:50 pm followed by her funeral Mass at 3:00 pm.  Interment will be held at a later date in the Sisters of St. Martha Cemetery. Special appreciation to all who journeyed with her and to the Mount Continuing Care staff who cared for Sister Joan in these last days. Arrangements entrusted to the Belvedere Funeral Home.
